BNW: Lust? A love-surrogate?? (1 Viewer)

I just had a thought that in BNW lust could be seen as a love surrogate for the inhabitants.. Just a thought.. let me hear your opinion.

It's not true lust, however...lust is basically an emotive feeling within the people, however they're conditioned into a society which limits, and very nearly eliminates, their emotional responses...besides, they don't need a love surrogate, because they're conditioned/modified etc. not to even know of love...there was a good quote about them not knowing about Shakespeare and other stuff in Ch. 16 that relates to this
