Does anyone know when boxercise was first introduced and what does it mean? Derivation? Has it ever been taught in a course?

It seems obvius that the name is an abbreviation of boxing and exercise but who started using it first? Why?

If anyone can provide some history to boxercise that can be validated that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure boxercise started in the UK in 91/92. Also, the word is a portmanteau of boxing and exercise...but you already knew that. Have you tried using www.google.com or www.wikipedia.org ? Alternatively I'm sure if you looked up some books on the history of sport then you'd find something - maybe head out the state library/uni libraries?
