I've got a few interviews for tutor jobs in the coming weeks, and one is asking for "business formal" wear (honestly, surely business casual should be plenty, but what do I know 🤷‍♀️). Do I really just have to wear a shirt and dress pants, because it's too hot for blazers, or are there nicer options? Also, any ideas where I can find such clothing at reasonable prices? It all seems a bit extra :cold:

Edit: do you think I could get away with an office dress of sorts?

Business formal refers to suit wear usually, so I assume they’d expect a blazer but honestly even a button up with a skirt/pants is good enough. A dress is also good but could be risky idk..

wear one of those nice button up tops with the collar and then wear like black dress pants. And then wear heels. I think that's fine

go to like the fancy older woman shops/brands, they're pricey but generally appropriate for businesswear/office jobs and therefore should be fine for tutoring? I'm thinking like Cue, Portmans, Tokito, Jacqui E...might be worth investing in a good blazer too. H & M and Uniqlo have rlly cheap stuff that could be styled into formality. dress shirt, tailored shorts/pants, invest in a coat/blazer if really necessary, midi skirts...

edit: more brands - review, forever new, seed - also scroll through iconic...H&M definitely the most affordable and I got some nice shorts from there that one could wear to the office soooooo

Ah I'm not putting stuff on again but I just went for a simple white blouse with a navy blazer/dress pants, and I'll switch the tops for a white shirt if it's too hot
lowkey sounds beautiful 😍😍 embody the office lady vibes HAHA (I don’t know teenage fashion BUT I know old lady fashion!)
