due to "unforseen cirucumstances" i havent been to any lectures for this since the 2nd week.

so if someone can explain to me what is needed to be done. explain it to me as if i am not even doing this subject(which unfortunately is the pretty much the case with me)

muchly appreciated.

The lecturer really sucks at explaining, and that combined with my awesome listening skillz or lack thereof only gives me a basic understanding, but pretty much you download the claim form from the appropriate site (not WebCT) and follow the titles the page filling out according to the facts from WebCT.

Someone else will really have to explain it better though, because as yet I haven't even looked at the form...

It's good to know that there are some shit subjects out there that I don't have to do.

I had almost lost faith.

well exactly, you miss out on the shittness of crim law, for example.

maths and perhaps this subject, buslaw, are two of only a few horrible subjects that aren't in my recommended programme of study

Skittled showed me his. I think he got it in his tute, and you get a brief fact senario and just have to fill out the facts on the statement of claim sheet (its like name, address, d.o.b) and then more important things like the case info. I'll get him to come on here and post up the info :)

No, no, you've gotta save it off the web, first, then print it off... I've only got a hardcopy now, though, so I can't throw it up here. Once WebCT is back up I'll save a copy and post it somewhere so anyone having difficulties can print directly...

WebCT said:
Facts:
Mrs Jones went to Coogee beach to swim. She swam between the flags where the lifesavers had directed. She dived into the surf. She hit her head on a sandbar. She fractured her skull. She wishes to sue Randwick Council. She was in hospital for 4 weeks and off work for 2 months. She lost earnings of $560 per week.
So, what you do, is, under "plaintiff's name, address, etc" you put
'Mrs Jones' and make up her address, etc.

Under Defendent's name, you put Randwick Council. According to her in the lecture we've gotta look up their address or we lose marks
(Edit: Cnr Frances St & Avoca St, Randwick 2031)

page 2:
....You make up the court fees, solicitor's costs, service fees, etc..

Plead the cause of action - I think this is where you put in the details about why they've been negligent... something along the lines of 'the council told me it was safe to swim but I bumped my head and hurt myself'... but I don't know how that fits into the "1}" and "2}" bit...

...particulars of injury: fractured skull, pain and suffering, economic loss (lost wages)...

I know that's really vague: will update as I get a chance...

Edit: Right. Just listened to my recording of her attempt at explaining it. However, from memory she was actually using a different form to explain it to the one we have to fill out, and then found the original and got all confused and confusing. Grr she's a bad lecturer. Anyone remember when question time is? I'll go along and ask them what the go is...

hang on

a couple of people that i have talked with are saying that it isnt due till next week.

i checked the content of tutorials. and it says that for tute no. 4, that we have to hand this in the following week. so, we have to hand it in tute no. 5? which is in week 6?

That little welsh lady who stands down the front of our lecture theatre during our lecture (I'm not willing to call her a lecturer) said we're to hand it in not this week, but next week.

In my tute the next day my tutor confirmed this: "apparently the lady-who-stands-down-the-front said that you could hand it in later than the date the tutorial outline is... so you can hand it in on either date."

So yes, according to the outline it's due like... today...

...but if your tutor didn't pick up on this, I'm sure you could argue the lady-who-stands-down-the-front said you had an extra week.

Meanwhile I'm going to go to a question time and find out how to do it... as soon as webct comes up so that I can find out when and where they are!!

Question time is where you go to a room and ask the lady questions because she won't take questions in the lecture.

It's on Monday in W5C.301, Tuesday W5C.301 and W5C.334 and Wednesday W5C.301, all at 1PM
