Hey,

I was just wondering the formula/equation for calculating real GDP per capita. Is it just GDP minus inflation divided by the nation's population??
Also, when measuring economic growth and development, should I be looking at GDP per capita or GNP per capita. If I should be looking at real GNP per capita, what's the equation/formula for calculating that?

I hope that makes sense.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

the GDP per capita can be found by dividing to ttl GDP of a country by its population
eg. Aust may hav a total gdp of 1/2 billion dollars and a pop of 20mil the gdp per capita is found by dividing its total population by the amount of money eg 1/2bil/20mil.

Hope it helps ya
