From a standard deck of 52 playing cards, find how man five-card hands can be dealt:
consisting of one pair and three of a kind
The answer is 3744. I don't understand what the question is asking :S

it is asking how many different ways of five cards that consist of one pair and three of a kind (ie, 2 ace and 3 sixs, or 2 sevens and 3 kings, etc)
for the pair, 13C1 times 4C2
for the three alike, 12C1, 4C3
