What raw mark would a person need to score in the maths 2 unit hsc exam to score a band 6?

someone wrote in another thread 86/120 which seems quite low. i was surprised. but not in a bad way.

Band 6 mite be achievable after all!

85 up but u goto hav kept ur school mrks above that and wen i say 85 u better aim for 95 coz think bout it if u get 98 and everyone gets 99 u still gonna get a shit mrk coz u the lowest its calculated by rnk mostly

What happens if i am ranked third in 2 unit out of 25 people and my raw mark was 78 but the highest was only 84????

In my trial i got 71% and second place, first was 74%, third was 67% and the average was 41%
