don't you need at least 10 units to be accepted into the UAI?

well for improving in maths you can try and get the cambridge, or understanding maths books. Their really good and have good examples, and when you learn a new formula make a formula book and record it down and revise it. Do heaps of exercises, questions and past paper. :) AND always have a good hand writing lol, my friend has a pretty bad handwriting and because of that he mistook a number for an another number. :p

I disagree that getting the Cambridge books will remedy the situation as this far into the game, if you don't have it already then adapting to new methods an covering the oodles of exercises will be impossible. Rather, what I would do is get past papers and do as many as possible, and where you don't understand something get a teacher or a tutor to show you how to correct the problem. I agree with kadlil though on the idea of a formula book, try making a summary that you write yourself of each formula and technique along with an example in how to use them( and dont buy one thats already been summarised, the writing out is to help you remember as much as anything else). Also are you doing your limited UAI at TAFE? If so, you should try heading to the ILC on a regular basis for help.
Also internal assesments *are* worth 50% of your mark for that subject but these get moderated by your external marks in the HSC as many schools set internal assessments of different difficulty and the marks are different accordingly.
At the moment if I were to give a fairly general guess then I'd say you'd get anywhere from the mid 60s to the late 70s...not reallly sure though.

thanks for the reply guys.. im starting to stress out now since the hsc coming up so fast.. just been thinking so much and getting paranoid..
well best of all to all u guys.

well at tafe i think im doing pretty good prolly top 5 for all subjects cause most of the ppl from my tafe dont really care about school. will these people drag my uai mark down? cause i believe most of the people at my tafe are getting low 50s under....

BTW wat is ILC ?

Well all TAFEs that have a general education section (HSC, CGVE, TPC etc.) basically have free tuition sessions for Maths, English and sometimes Science or Computing in what is known as the Intensive Learning Centre. Furthermore being enrolled in one TAFE's general ed program allows you to visit *any* ILC in the state. You don't have to make appointments either as the teacher/tutor should be on duty at the assigned ILC times and you can just drop in for as long as you want while the teacher is there. I can also attest to the quality of the ILCs in Kogarah, Gymea and Wollongong - they are very helpful.:)
Also, about the rankings, the higher your rankings are the less you have to worry to put it simply. If you want a technical explanation there are threads explaining this to incredible depth. And also don't worry that being a TAFE student will drag your marks down either...this is a bit of hyperbole, as long as you work hard you will do well.:)

Yeah, just think of it this way, put in your best effort and just be happy with what you get at the end of it all. There's not really much point worrying and stressing if it's just going to distract you from doing work, just stick to your guns :)

For maths, i suggest that you should do more practice with maths and spend more time on it, that way you can improve.
