Just want to check whether I know what to put in my folio (it's A3 by the way)

Page i. Title page
- student number, focus area, theme

Page 1. Design Inspiration
- relevance of project to focus area
eg. prominent position in house, public not personal, photos
- justification of creative/innovative design
eg. cultural symbolism, history of techniques, etc

Page 2. Design Inspiration
- relationship to historical/cultural/contemp factors
eg. collage of pictures, research on the cultures represented, symbolism, etc

Page 3. Vis Design Development
- progression of inspiration to design, evaluation of development

Page 4. Vis Design Development
- functional and aethetic features and analysis, elements and principles and analysis

Page 5. Vis Design Development
- final drawings

Page 6. Manufacturing Spec
- description of item, pattern, modifications, swatches, costs

Page 7. Manufacturing Spec
- production drawings, product label

Page 8. Manufacturing Spec
- pattern pieces, order of construction

Page 9. Investigation, Exp, Evaluation
- experiments + conclusions and modifications (for fabrics)

Page 10. Investigation, Exp, Evaluation
- analysis of fabric, yarn and fibre

Page 11. Investigation, Exp, Evaluation
- manufacturing (construction techniques, decorative techniques)

Page 12. Investigation, Exp, Evaluation

Is there anything wrong there or something I've missed? Please let me know, it's really daunting... thanks~! :)

ohhh. i really recommend you don't have a title page. if the marker is in a poo mood then he/she'll count it as a page and you last page might not count. i can't remember what the page limit is, but check the syllabus to make sure you're not over. instead, use your borders and background to display you focus area and theme. you'll get extra marks for that :)

in page 2 it's good to have key words that connect with your pictures so your page doesn't look like a random collage. e.g. the red flowers symbolise strength and unity, 'samurai sword, .. stuff like that

in the end, make sure yoiu justify your experiments i.e. how they contributed to/ changed the design of your work.

i can't remember what else is needed. i'm sure you've already checked it out, but looks at the syllabus and tic off the points. also look at the outcomes for extra things for your major. i know, the syllabus sux. :)

good luck!

one more thing, your student number will be stuck to the front of your portfolio so don't worry about writing it anywhere.

Thanks so much~!

I do remember someone at this lecture I went to at Texstyle saying that this girl went close to having her title page counted because it began to give an impression of it or something, but I couldn't remember

ohh.. i forgot.
if say you're doing apparel, it's a good idea to put it on and take a picture to put on the cover of your portfolio. this is useful so tha markers can see how it looks on (more impressive on than flat on a table).
last year i put 2 pictures alone on the first page for that reason. it wasn't counted as a page although doing this might be a bit risky as the markers are now considering marking it as a page.
