Ok so I have been using the matrix calculator and these are the marks I used

Eng Adv - 90
Business Studies - 90
Legal Studies - 90
Maths - 90
Maths Ext 1 - 40
Eng Ext 1 - 40

Atar = 88.05
If I remove the two extension subjects and replace them with one 2 unit subject my atar increases

Eng Adv - 90
Business Studies - 90
Legal Studies - 90
Maths - 90
Bio - 80

Atar = 93.50

So can anyone clarify why the calculator gives a higher atar the second time. Is it because I inputted 5 subjects instead of 6?

It seems it's only bugged when you put both ext 1 Eng and Maths together in the calculator (might be cause they both have extension 2s and they often negate 2 unit Eng or Maths), switch Germ Extension(scales a bit better) with Ext 1 Eng and type 38 in the cal, the scaled marked should roughly be the same, and so should the ATAR estimate. Hope that helped.
