In terms of O-week, I believe you can go to different universities but with societies I don't think so although it's possible

depends on some societies tbh. the UNSW underwater dive club allows non UNSW members. but most societies are uni oriented or have branches.

And yes you can for most of the hobby-related clubs, even more so if they have a branch/same club because usually the clubs all pretty close-knit with each other from other universities - you can even apply for an exec role for another uni's club if you want - granted you'll get voted in
