Major problem here with our school-

You see, 10/11 of our extension 1 students (including myself) are achieving quite high marks overall (prob 85+ assessment mark overall so far...)

However, there is one particular student (not naming any names) who was plagiarised all of our assessment tasks so far, and hence, received a 0 for them- we've done like 50% of the course!

they dont want to drop, as they only do 10 units

Hypothetically, does this mean that their 0 mark drags the other 10 of us down, preventing us from getting high marks and they get dragged up from ours?

Or does the BOS make special provisions for cases like this, where it is clearly only one student in the class that is not putting in the effort?

It wont drag you down, Assessment marks are generally awarded as follows:
the top HSC mark becomes the top assessment mark(ie the top person in school assessments receives the school's top HSC exam mark as their assessment mark)
the second HSC mark becomes the second assessment mark
....
The last HSC mark becomes the last assessment mark

To the best of my knowledge this holds true to within 1-2 pts deviation the whole way down
