Quote 1: Sibilance is the repetition of soft consonant sounds in words to create a 'whooshing' or 'hissing' sound in the writing. This is evident in 'sense of phase'. Like Emma said though, there is more context needed in order to explore the effect of this.

Quote 2: Contrast and juxtaposition in 'boring' and 'fascinating'.
