Ok, you know the speed camera near Captain Cook Bridge? How accurate is it, and has anyone been caught speeding past it? Because I know most people speed over that bridge, and I think I have a couple of times, so now I'm freaking about getting a ticket. My mum said if i get a ticket I can't drive anymore.

There isnt a speed camera near Captain Cook Bridge, its like 10km away, is that the one you are referring to?

EDIT: And I wouldnt worry anyway, I remember there were a couple of time early on when I thought I would have been caught by a speed camera, when i knew I was speeding..... but usually you either forgot that you slowed down at the camera location and the sped up (Like as a result of seeing the sign or because all the traffic had amazingly slown down for some reason!)

August 04?
Thats the most update map from the RTA.... I can only assume no other cameras have been put into service?

Anyway, Ive driven along that road a fair bit, speeding at times.... I dont recall a fixed speed camera within the immediate vaccinity of the bridge... or even passed it! (Although I may have just forgotten)

Ok, so you're saying that pretty much as SOON as you come off Captain Cook bridge, there's no speed camera? cos there's something that looks awfully a lot like one

better to be suspicious and take precautions. if you don't pay attention and observe these dangers you're gonna get hit, either by a car or with a ticket.

I dont think there is. Dont get confused with those traffic monitoring cameras either, they are not speed cameras, adn they are around that area because they need to monitor that high traffic area ;) The easy way to know is check for signs before hand, not the 'speed cameras are used in NSW' ones because they are just eye candy (I remember one street I drove in had like 10 of them within 1km) but the ones that are like ' speed camera ahead' with the speed limit right next to them! If there is one of those, then there is a speed camera.... but tbh I dont think there is one there.

There is no speed camera on Captain Cook bridge, the closest one is on Captain Cook Drive between Caringbah and Woolooware.

O/T Does anyone know why they changed the speed limit from 90km/h to 80km/h on the bridge?
