I have an assignment on criminal law and i have to use a case law that shows either recklessness or negligence....any ideas?

recklessness and negligence come under civil law usually, so this makes it an interesting assignment to say the least.
Check out this site: austlii.edu.au

It lists most of the cases and all the laws in Australia

Recklessness: Hyam v. DPP (1974)
Miss Hyam poured petrol through a woman's letterslot (in the door) and set it alight to scare her. The house burnt down and 2 people died. She said she only wanted to scare the person but knew what could happen - therefore she was guilty. -- She foresaw or knew the result of her actions but acted anyway.

She said it's a criminal law case. We have recklessness and negligence in criminal law...

e.g. think reckless driving and negligent driving - but there are other sorts too as above.
