ok i have a little confusion about hte statement below:

there is no change for the better that is not at the same time a change for the worse.

does the above statement imply that change is good and bad at the same time?

Yeah, i think it just means that the consequences of change can be both good and bad - they can have positive effects for some, and negative effects for others...

I know this may sound backwards... but maybe the statement

there is no change for the better that is not at the same time a change for the worse.

means that change is what you make it... it can be for the better or for the worse.. depending how you deal with the change. Which is kinda the same as what you said.. but i don't think that change is positive or neagtive.. i think its our response to the change that determines whether it is positive or negative..... if that makes sense... sorry if i confused you more

It's about changing perspectives. From one perspective, an event may be for the better, while from someone else's view, the event has bad results.
