Hey, I need to write an essay on Characterisation, and I'm a little confused as far as to what is the most effective structure.

Should I be writing...
* Intro
* Idea -> Reference to Character 1 and Character 2 as example
* Idea2 -> Reference to Character 1 and Character 2 as example
* Idea3 -> Reference to Character 1 and Character 2 as example
* Conclusion
(My attempt at what I assume is an integrated essay)

Or
* Intro
* Character 1 -> Techniques
* Character 2 -> Techniques
* Conclusion
(What other people are doing)

Thanks for your help, I can give more details if needed :)

Hm... I like the first one, but I think you should change it around a bit! I don't think you should try referring to both characters in the one body paragraph - that will get extremely clumped, and depending on how good you are at English, will be difficult to pull off.

Also, do you mind telling me a bit more about this task? Are you meant to be comparing two characters?

Rather, I suggest you do this:
- Intoduction
- BP1: Idea 1, characterisation of character 1
- BP2: Idea 1, characterisation of character 2
- BP3: Idea 2, characterisation of character 1
- BP4: Idea 2, characterisation of character 2
- Conclusion

Hope this helps :)
