More for the scripties then the speechers:

What do you guys do to create your characters? Do you write and build the characters around what occurs or do you make the story occur around the characters?

I created my characters in the dungeons and dragons format (god I'm a nerd!) and then build their history, employment, strengths and weaknesses around all that. It changed my whole idea of my characters and stories.

Anyway, all of your input on how to build characters would be really helpful!

Love, Oman

I just start writing with a bit of a foggy idea of a character in mind, and as I go along, I change things, refine it, and give them their own distinctly different personalities. It's sorta difficult to explain... I generally come up with a storyline first, though.
