I can see how it would, but like most good things it’s better used in moderation. personally I’ve been loving chatgpt (free version bc I’m not desperate) to explain concepts I don’t understand well obviously to not cross check with reliable sources is an issue but it’s very very helpful for breaking complex things down, that’s the extent of my use
but I tutor high school boys for english who frankly arent good at english but the rise of chatgpt has made them regress further


like they show me drafts of essays that they wrote with “some help from AI” but it’s so clear they don’t have the critical thinking skills to make their own analyses and don’t have the motivation to try bc AI is so accessible and easy
so yeah def think it’s harming certain demographics a lot more than others by promoting complacency and not needing to stimulate your brain
