Conquering has the famous Burhan Gemikonakli. I remember I prepared an Australian chemist who worked in spectroscopy and had made some breakthroughs, can't remember his name though.

I think this dot-point is pretty dumb too, I'm surprised it's still in there. I think you could make one up in a pinch too :p

Fritz Haber was a fine scientist who proudly supported the cause of the nationalist socialist movement in the second world war....how?
Well he develop the 'Haber process' which of course is used in industry for the manufacture of Ammonia:

N2 + 3H2 <-----> 2NH3

Basically what this guy did was to remove the product (ammonia gas) as it was manufactured in order to shift the equilibrium to the right and hasten the process....and of this day theis method has established itself as the industry standard worldwide....

Back then, it was important cos Germany is small and has no natural resources...Ammonia is a key component in bombs and Germany were having to import ammonia rich soils from Chile which was proving to be quite costly

Yeah, Fritz Haber turns up in the ammonia production stuff. I think the hardest part of that is figuring out the principle on which they base their work.

The example in CC's pretty good.
