Perhaps it would be a good idea to focus upon the standard of historiography, ie; Herodotus' acceptance of myth in his histories, as compared to Thucydides' claims towards truth. (Although this is faulted by his fabricating numerous speeches recorded within his work..)
have you got that book by John Warren? it's an 'access to hisotry' thing? it's really useful for that.
and speaking of books, you all have to buy John Tosh's "The Pursuit of History" omg it is the most amazingly good book. it costs $80 but worth every cent.
