what is the function of the cochlea:
A recieve sound waves and convert them into virbations
B maintian correct balnce in the body
C transfer virbrations to the oval window
D transport nervous impulses to brain

1. Yes it does this through the little cilia inside it. This stimulates auditory nerve to then send an impulse to the brain.

3. Sound waves cause vibration of the tympanic membrane and the ossicles transmit those vibrations to the oval window, which leads to movement of fluid within the cochlea and activation of receptors for hearing.

So, the ‘best’ (😉) answer is D.

The tympanic membrane performs the function described in A,
the semicircular canals of the inner ear perform the function described in B,
and the stapes (as part of the ossicles) perform the function described in C.
