Hey guys
I have a question and two possible answers:
number of ways of forming a 4 letter word from the word ALGEBRA with one a.
I was thinking: if there are 2 a's and only one was to be included, it would be 2x5x4x3/2 = 60. However, I also considered, if this is a permutation question, wouldn't the position be key? thus a can be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, so 60x4 = 240.
Can anyone help me out? Which one is the correct answer?
EDIT: Btw, combinations is meant to mean arrangements (in the title).
EDIT: I'm pretty sure 240 is right now...
