can someone explain how a combined degree works?

Theres one course i want to do that has a single course number for both that course and a combined degree with another course. Is it not possible to select only the single course i want to do by itself?

you just select that number and when you enrol, you choose if you want the double or the single. ie. bcom at unsw has same code as bcom/ba and bcom/bsocsci, but when you enrol you choose what you want to do.

btw do you know if the UAI cutoffs change depending on whether its combined or not?
