To transfer into the actual advanced science degree you'd probably have to discuss the requirements with the uni for an internal transfer. Most likely they'd take your uni results into consideration, so taking some advanced units and doing well in them would probably be beneficial.

I'm currently BE/BSc myself, and while I'm not 100% sure, I think if you finish with the required number of adv subjects for the BSc(adv) and a credit average you are awarded with a BE/BSc(adv).

i thought that too, at least it appears this way looking at the handbook but can anyone confirm this?

As long as you complete the degree with the required number of adv subjects you are eligible for BSc(Adv), although you might have to repeatedly tell the faculty office about it.

Although BE BSc is tangled in a lot of bureaucratic red tape.

Every time I want to make some change to my enrolment I get sent between the two faculty offices, where both say the other is responsible for gaining approval. Apparently this has been going on for a while that non of the two faculties want to accept responsibility for a student enrolled in the combined degree.

Engineering is responsible for you.

If it was a science unit you want to change into you will probably have to see them anyway.

It shouldnt be any harder then someone doing a BA wanting to do a science unit.

yeah i know what you mean. i had a similar experience where i wanted initially enrolled for "flexible first year" and then wanted to change to "electrical" but NO ONE could do it. i had to find someguy who was never there and didn't reply to my emails so eventually i just picked the electrical engineering subjects (the ones in the link above). another question, do u think they'll be any penalty for (offically)doing flexible 1st yr but not doing any of the flexible 1st yr subjects?

doubt they can penalise you... ask any way...

as for adv stream, affirmative to templar + waffy ( i think)
i asked the faculty, they said that if u want ur student card to say adv u have to apply for an internal transfer... otherwise, wait til end of ur degree and if u satisfy all criteria, they will award you with adv stream...

in fact, you don't actually have to wait until end of ur degree... my stream right now says adv, even i started no stream...
