Hi I was wondering whether a commerce/eco double degree is a wise decision?

Is it broad enough scope to allow good future employment prospects. The other option is prob. commerce/IT. Which one is better?

cheers

I enjoy com/eco in addition to IT but was wondering whether doing purely commercy stuff is too specific? Perhaps employers nowadays are leaning towards people who can multitask?

I'd prefer to specialise in accounting though. How hard is it to do an internal transfer at uni? (in case one of the mentioned choices didn't pique my interest)

nah, i dont think so. in general they have IT people to do IT stuff, and commercey people to do commerce stuff. there is little crossover, and the stuff youll learn doing computing at uni isnt particularly practical. i dont think commerce is too specific, as someone said here its the new arts.

BIS is a mix of hardcore technology stuff mixed with theories on how to utilise that technology, you do all kinds of stuff like programming, database design, marketing strategies using information systems, ethics...

Of course the hardcore technology part doesn't go anywhere near as detailed as something like a software engineering degree

The BIS major @ USyd is a joke....its just a rip-off of the Bachelor of Engineering(E-commerce) degree but thats my opinion!!!
