Hey guys! I'm currently in yr 12 and considering the combined commerce/science degree at unsw but people have been saying that doing this is a waste of time as they are so different. Is this true? And what combinations of majors are useful in terms of employment? I would love to continue maths, but not sure as people say it's useless... And is unsw a good place to do this? Thanks!

Is Commerce and Science at UNSW a good degree?

I'd say so, yes.

1. Decide what you want to be when you grow up
2. Get degree

If you want to be trained for a specific B Commerce related occupation then the only advantage I could see a science degree (major maths/stats) giving you would be something to set you apart from the other 10000 people with a BCom but even then I reckon employers would care more about extra-curricular stuff and experience than you having done a bunch of extra uni subjects
