Can someone please give me some advice... I'm looking to study a communications degree in Journalism and i would just like to know what some people think of wollongong and its rep? Is the communications degree there any good??

...cos otherwise i was thinking of Charles sturt- Bathurst...

Pros and Cons...anyone Please...

well wollongong has been voted number 1 in the past 4 years.. and there are bautiful grounds and gr8 facilities (i've been to discovery days there)....btw i'm aiming to do journalism there too! thats if i dont get into UTS...which is unlikely!

i think it seems alright actually....but then they always make them sound gr8! to make u go there!!!

i'm applying for the creative writing course as well wiv a portfolio....i'd LOVE to get into that! radio scripting, tv scripting and journalism- right up my alley!

wow? really i was thinking of doing exactly the same thing! what sort of things does the Creative writing course include? cos i love fiction and all those other aspects of it, but from what ive seen you have to do some poetry....AND I HATE POETRY!!! eeeeew....
and what they expect you to put in the portfolio when u apply?

I think that journalism at wollongong is a fiarly new course so it hasn't built up the reputation in the industry yet. However it is one of my preferences

in the portfolio u have to put samples of the styles of writing in which u are interested,,,..so i've got a short story from yr 11...and extract from my 4 unit story...an article from when i did work experience at a newspaper.....and a poem that i entered in a comp when i was in yr 6...and it got published in some book.......

i think the creative writing course will include some poetry...but as an elective maybe......i dont mind it myself...but i'm pretty crappy at it! lol

hey...is it required that you study some language units in your comminucations course...like is it obligatory?
