comp123 would be useless for your degree as it is not a core unit for the combined law/IT (assuming thats the course you want to trasnfer into gathered from the other thread).
from what i've heard, comp123 is basically just ms office and basic internet.

comp114 would be much better suited for the degrees because its one of the core units.

i haven't done comp114 and don't plan too, but i did comp115 last semester and its not heavily math based at all. i think the purpose of doing the math required courses is to develop your logic and problem solving abilities.

for the BIT component, you are required to do MATH135 provided that you meet the pre- req's.

hope this helps...

well if u transfer into any comp course, u would probably hve to do maths cuz its a prerequisite for comp225. The easiest one that u can do for it is math135

oh really? why would you wanna do that?

if you do that, they willl take into account your UAI and last semesters results and will recalculate you a new UAI... how well did you go last semester? chances are they will fuck up your re- calculated UAI....

why not just continue with what your doing but just take COMP units so that way you won't be a year behind...

how did you go in HSC math?

MATH135 is the core for BIT, but if you don't meet the pre- requisites then you'd need to do MATH130. are you allowed to do any math units this semester? because if you are why not do MATH130 if you don't meet the MATH135 pre-reqs.

the pre- req for COMP125 is COMP115, which you obviously havent' done... COMP125 continues on from COMP115 so you'd be pretty much be lost, unless you already know how to C++??

hehe i was kinda gonna learn C++ this sem bymyself anyway, and ive got a friend that did that last sem anyway so i was gonna do that, maybe try for an exemption next sem aye.

as for maths i think i might have to, since i got a b4 for 2unit maths, so yeah the MATHS130 sounds like its on

the maths isnt too bad, the way they teach it at uni is pretty different from the way at high school and its pretty interesting, just be sure to work on it each week. the minimum is math135 but you have more choice of subjects in 2nd and 3rd year if you can do 136, and if you can do 135 you can do 136, its not too bad.
