Do you think this is a good laptop for >$2000.

Basically it will serve as my desktop replacement... I will use it at home and away and play games on it as well.

hahha, i too would stay clear, but hey, i have a dell...

yeah, for the specs, that would be about right.
the only place u can get it cheaper is overseas.

I have found that most Compaq machines I have ever used are of relatively poor build quality and tech support is unpleasant, especially since the HP-Compaq merge.

the compaq we got recently works fine...
the build quality is good as well..
though its not that model stated...

i'd recommend compaq's over dells anyday...
