Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone had any idea on some information about completing another degree straight after your first, mainly:

1. Will i still be eligible for HECS?
2. Are there any restrictions to this at MQ? Has anyone ever done one? Do i apply through UAC or internally?
3. Is it wise to do this, or try for a graduate/post-grad at another university? (the degree is BADipEd)

Thanks,

Your friendly neighbourhood ninja.

If you've been studying full-time, there's a restriction on how long your HECS lasts. From memory, you get 7 years of HECs, although someone will need to confirm it.

Yup, the handbook says that you get around 7 years of SLE(which is part of their terminology now for HECS eligibility or something...) to play with - but you can get bonus SLE by doing Honours. Its all on the website that the gov puts all the HECS details on as well.

Mike, why are you worrying about HECS? You're going to spend another 20 years at University anyway (and studying for an additional 5 different degrees) :p

I looked into it when I was doing Honours. If you graduate with a degree (which you do as you start Honours), then you must go through UAC again to do a second degree. If you're still enrolled in the degree, then there should be an internal process within the Uni, whether it be a double degree or otherwise.
