i cant do the 2nd and 3rd question. help please
i) Let z=x+iy.
Re(az)
=> Re((p+qi)*(x+iy))=1
px-qy=1

ii) (z-a)/z = 1-(a/z)
= px-qy -((p+iq)/(x+iy))
= px-qy - ((p+iq)(x-iy)/(x^2+y^2))
Since, (p+iq)(x-iy) is imaginary.
= Re(az)- (p+iq)(x-iy)/Re(z)
Then, (z-a)/z is imaginary.

Re(a(1/z))=Re((p+iq)(x-iy)/(x^2+y^2))
= (px+qy)/(x^2+y^2)
= 1

iii)
If, 1/z = 1/a
Re(a/a)=1
Thus, 1=px-qy

my tutor said ppl who hate mechanics is cuz they always teach it b4 the hsc and no1 really has to time to study thru it, it not really that hard. Conics is harder T.T

^ No way is mechanics harder than harder 3u. Mechanics is really routine based and the processes are "mechanical", harder 3u is nearly impossible to be completely prepared for cos of the massive variety of topics they can test.

My ranking from easiest to hardest:

integration
complex, tie with polynomials and graphs
volumes
mechanics
conics
harder 3u

In fact you can easily prepare for any topic other than harder 3u.

Where's complex?

And from the replies above, i guess the difficulty of the subjects depends on the person.

@OP - sorry about hijacking the thread :p

Yeah, it really does.
I would say:
Graphs and Integration tied.
Complex
Polynomials
Volumes
Mechanics
Conics
Harder 3 unit.

Some of those conics proofs are hard to get out.
