at unsw you will start doing computer subjects in the first semester, where as at uts you will have to wait and do some crappy physics or engineering subjects totally unrelated to computers but it's compulsory

unsw is so much better

Of course UNSW is better.
And yeah redslert is right, you start doing a comp subject from your first semester in the first year.

I tossed between Computing Eng, Software Eng and Computer Science at UNSW last year....

What I have chosen: Electrical Eng / Computer Science...

Consider that... It is FUN **

seng - if you like doing the paper work / design in software design

comp eng - if you like the physical processes more

Of course, I would also like to take this chance to sell Computer Science to you. :)

I'll have to agree with sunny (as much as I don't wan't to)

Software - 1/2 Programming, 1/4 Maths, 1/4 Commerce.

Comp Sci - 1/2 Programming, 1/4 Maths. 1/4 Science

Comp Eng - 1/2 Programming, 1/2 Physics/Electircal Eng

actually with Comp Sci there's no compulsory science courses
so its just
2 compulsory math subjects (maths 1A and 1B) then all programming + 2 General Education (if you're not doing a combined degree)

I think what McLake was referring to was first year - Comp Sci first year only has so many choices for your electives, and commonly they're science subjects. Also, gen eds don't start till second year.

lol depends on how well he can cope with all the stress and extra workload

i would never be able to do higher computering with my current subjects...
but if i didn't do higher higher HIGHER maths i would definitly choose higher computer first year

I would recommend doing it anyway. It isn't that much harder, and it is a lot better ...

so it's complex? :D

anyways, when choosing, you gotta think about other aspects of the university other than the course (obviously, if you see it based on the course, unsw will always be #1 in choice :p), but also the social aspects etc.. do they actually have kendo club / fencing club in uts? transport and stuffs is also an interesting aspect. But otherwise, it really all depends on you in the end. what outcome you get completely depends on your will to "shine"

btw all those people who were saying that they were gonna join kendo.. have you really joined? :D
