Hey guys,
Just a reminder that the CumSoaked (I mean ComSoc) elections are on next Tuesgay!
Lots of positions you can run for. Great to put on your CV. You'll also make some exceptional industry contacts. Finally, a lot of fun will be had (I'm organising first year camp and you guys will help out if you're on the execs. That way your fantasies about sexy-timing nubile students will come true).
Even if you don't run, please come as well :) That way you get to meet me. And talk to the current execs about anything you want comsoc to do. Also, if youre a comsoc member, you can vote!

And if you vote:
Stas Madorski (Me) - Social
Andrew - Vice President
Scott - Whatever position he ends up running for (finance/president)

If you vote for me, I will make your wildest dreams come true.

AGM details
Date: Tuesday, 18th of October
Time: 5pm
Location: Room 4, level 5 Wentworth

Since I seem to be the only other one up at this time here....how many run for each position roundabouts?

It's only my first year, but judging by the meeting in which I got elected, about 8 people a position.
Go there knowing what you want to do
(e.g. if you're running for marketing, you should have a plan for how you wish to promote comsoc)
I can almost guarantee all the other candidates will purely talk about themselves and how good they are, rather then what theyre going to do.

Oh, and almost forgot. If you're running:

Simply email secretary@comsoc.asn.au with your Name, SID and the position you're interested in before 5pm MONDAY 18th October.

You mean monday 18 october?

And so voting is done there and then by people present at the meeting? How many were there at the one you went to? (very roughly)

BTW i dont remember there being a first year camp this year or was there?

Thanks for the correction :)

At the one I went to: maybe 50?
But that was the smaller one at the start of the year for the newly created positions.

This one will prob be bigger. Like my penis (very roughly).

What are you thinking of running for

Query: how big is the ComSoc membership? And what sort of percentage is active in ComSoc?

I didn't ruin the SRC, I worked to save it. Besides, you're not even a university student, so shut your trap.

ComSoc is the largest non-faculty career-related society in Australia (or something of that nature). It has a very high number of members.
What do you mean by 'active'?

Of the 650 or so members of the Con Students Association (BABMusStudies students are, technically, not members), only about 10 are active, with the exception of the free drinks events. So how many people actually participate in ComSoc?

by participate do you mean come to events, or rather help organise stuff?
There's about 30 people helping to organise stuff.
However, most events we organise such as the pub crawl, cocktail nights, careers nights are packed.
