OK, so we've been given questions where in an equilibrium reaction, one of the equilibrium concentrations are provided, but the other must be calculated based on the that and the reaction equation. Any ideas?

for example

if you had Na +Cl --> NaCl

the two concentrations would be equal (im pretty sure)

say you had Fe +2HCl --> FeCl2 + H2

and the concentration of Fe was say "x"

then the concentration of HCl would be "2x"

its all about the ratios (note ratios!!!) of the coeffiecents of the eqns

if i had 5x +3y --> a +b ( Im assuming x, y, a and b are just substances that have oxidation numbers that allow them to react as such) and i knew that concentration of x was 0.5mol/L then concentraion of y would be 3/5 * 0.5mol/L

Im pretty sure thats it
