Hi, this is actually bubz's sister on her account but..

I'm in year 9, and i need to discuss three artworks in response to the conceptual framework (3000 words) and i'm kind of confused with the "artwork to world" sector. What can i disscuss here? ..

Also, what do i do if "artist-artwork" and "artwork-audience" overlap?. for example the artwork to artist includes the practice and materials and concepts. However the Artwork to Audience can use the frames, so wouldn't they be the cultural and structural frames?,, I'm confused ><

the artwork-world paradigm is how the world of the artwork (really; the artist's world) has influenced in any shape or form, the artwork, (like the cultural frame but talking about the relationships rather than explicitly the cultural context) but it can also mean how the world's context has responded to the work (Note: do not confuse with audience, because the world can mean the "world at large", whereas the audience are direct responders to the artwork). Also, in the artist-world relationship i'd talk about how the artist's own environment acts as a psychological agent on the artist thereby reflecting in the artwork of his/her own psychosis. Perhaps you could mention how the artwork, if any, uses site-specific attributes to give it special meaning when placed within a special context in the world, for example the Kauffman House (Frank Lloyd Wright) has a site-specific quality attached to it. Im just rambling here to give you some ideas, but this is art and anything related, even tensively, to the world-artwork relation is passable as long as u explain what exactly you're trying to say.

If they overlap, that's alright because they have to overlap at some areas, but remember that the conceptual frame is not about analyzing artwork through the frames so dont try to go, "oh, look, theres the artwork-world relationship, i'll use the cultural frame and structural", but the whole purpose behind the conceptual framework is the FRAMEWORK, and the relationships between the various agents of the artworld. Try, if possible, to talk explicitly about the relationships (not the artwork per se) referring to as much examples as possible... whew i probably wrote heaps just then - i hope i helped you and GOOD luck

vinvi is right :)

Through the conceptual framework, students learn about:
• the role of the artist — the who, what, how, and why. The concept of the artist
encompasses practitioners such as artists, craftspeople, designers and architects.
The artist can be thought of as an individual or as a group, school, movement, etc.
• the role and value of the audience as a body of critical consumers. The concept of
the audience includes art critics and art historians as well as teachers, students,
entrepreneurs, patrons and other members of the public. Audiences for works
change over time and bring different meanings to artworks, artists and interpretations
of the world.
• artworks as real objects, as material, physical and virtual objects. The concept of
artworks includes art, craft and design as two- and three-dimensional works
(including architecture), and four-dimensional and time-based works. Artworks also
exist as representations of ideas that reflect such things as personal responses,
cultural views, symbolic interpretations and critical reinterpretations of other ideas.

Conceptual Frame
-World
~art world and greater world play a significant role in the practice of artists
~an artwork is generally an interpretation of his or her world
~art world is part of the world at large and is constantly changing and evolving due to technology and science
~collective experiences
~today’s world-many interpretations and layers can exist
-Artwork
~artworks belong within the confines of the artists world
~artworks reflect conceptuality and physical interests, ideas, and technology of the artist and the world
-Audience
~this includes critics and historians as well as students, teachers, patrons and other members of the public
~personal experiences of an individual have an effect on how they read work
~contemporary audiences differ hugely from the past, medieval audiences were largely illiterate and imagery was often a narrative
~mass communications today bombard the literate audience but perhaps not the critical consumers
-Artist
~the artists own circumstances will differ hugely and determine artistic practice
~constraint may be in the form of ideologies, i.e. feminism, or religion
~patronage gives opportunity as well as sometimes constraining the individual creativity
