I believe so, yes.

Fee paying students are able to receive offers under the published UAI cut-offs (for HECS).

Consult your UAC guide, or visit UAC's website for a listing of courses for the Main and Late Round Offers.

2003 Main Round UAI cut-offs for local Australian fee-based courses

2003 Late Round UAI cut-offs for local Australian fee-based courses

For HECS, you will find it on the main page (Undergraduate), at UAC's website. :)

Im not sure about Fees, but HECS you can pay up front and get something like a 20% discount or you can defer it and when you reach a certain threshold it will act like extra tax.

some unis will have particular courses with a certain percentage reserved for local fee-payers. the normal principles apply to the cut-offs, only they are generally lower since competition for such expensive positions is obviously less. normally its about 5 points, but for really popular courses like law, its more like 1 and a half.

nb: you cannot defer local-fee costs, u have to pay up front, but there are loans services available from the govt, i think its called "HELP", forget wot it stands for but :D:p

with hecs, u can pay the entire semester's contribution up front and receive a 25% discount. or u can defer it until u start earning a certain level of income, upon which the govt takes a tiny percentage out of every pay check. this does mean, however, that if u work oseas for the rest of ur life, u never need to pay off ur hecs :D:p
