construct horizontal line from P to y-axis, call the intersection point 'M'

MRP /// ORT

$\frac{RP}{RT}=\frac{MP}{OT}$

$\frac{RP}{RT}=\frac{a\cos\theta}{\frac{a}{e}}=\frac{ae}{\frac{a}{e}}=e^2$

$\therefore RP=e^2RT$
