Just wondering how many conic proofs/ properties we have to know and memorise thanks

The things you should know are the foci, directix's, asymptotes (of the hyperbola), b^2=a^2(1-e^2) & b^2=a^2(e^2-1), PS/PM=e,
the e of a rectangular hyperbola is always sqrt(2) and b=a, also that c^2=xy business
just learn how to derive the equations and most of them are very simmilar between the ellipse and hyperbola.

make sure you look at b and a too see which greater then which, it is essential for all the properties of the conic section you are asked about!
