Well each day i keep putting off studying....but i'll start reading today .................soon :D

the test only from estoppel onwards isnt it? estoppel through to frustration?

who else is screwed?

im hating the thought of this exam more than i hated torts.........and i really hated that subject.

i just need to remember the important cases and legislation. the authorities and how to use them.

it sounds so simple, but then i look at a hypothetical and think "what the hell does this question want from me?" :vcross:

Totally agree re: the questions and what it wants. I was going to start today, but somehow its now nearly 5... But not all is lost: I'm meeting friends at the Ranch to "study" contracts.. we'll see how it goes.

I'm going to try and make a little sheet/book with the law on it, but theres like 20 different interpretations for each aspect, and then the legislation which alters it all.. its so shitty! I loved torts, to the extent I'm thinking I might get into negligence or defamation, but contracts just sucks. Apparently a heap of people failed last year, and so they've made it this year so the assignment was marked hard, and they're going to make the exam easy: I wish! We'll see...

And yeah, its from promissory estoppel/privity to frustration. I think I'm going to have the most trouble with the remedies and what kinda damages they can claim, if any.... If only the assignment was worth 60% and the final 20% :(

i still haven't started reading. damn tv!

i plan to study for it by first doing the readings that i missed.....which is a lot.

then for each little thing.......i'll use the study guide to see the topics im supposed to know and i'll look for the relevent cases or legislation in each topic. so then when i look at the exam i'll be able to go "oh this is about this...........and the principles of how to deal with it is in this case.......or the facts are similar to the so and so case i'll deal with it the same way".

seems so easy yet i find it so hard.

and 3 questions too. thats ridiculous!

three questions is better than the last few years: they've had 4 questions, one of which was a theory question.. thats why we have 3 this year, they're reforming the course because so many people have been failing (according to the rumour mill).

Ive just got her lecture notes and some book notes, I'm going through and making a little case book, its taking a v. long time.

And ta scarecrow, you're a sweetie! You two helped me a lot too!

woah i didn't realise how screwed i was til i actually started reading stuff last night. got a big day ahead of me today.

my only hope of passing this course is if araw mark of 50 equates to a pass. i've figured out if i get atleast 25/60 for this exam then i will get to a raw of 50. thats around 8/20 for each question which seems entirely possible for me.

however, thats all well and good but you probably have to pass this final exam regardless to pass this course don't you? does it say anywhere on the site or study guide that you must pass the final exam?

ah well time to start making some notes.

I'm not sure about the needing to pass the exam to pass the course, but regardless of whether you pass contracts or not, you can continue law (I checked last night coz I think I'm pretty screwed too). I cant wait until this is all over- my last exam!! If only it wasnt so complicated... sigh..

well atleast its over. boy what a way to go out for me. in a blaze of uninformed, unprepared and unintelligent glory.

i found they were the sorta questions that the majority of people would say "oh they were ok i found them pretty good". well noooooo i tell you.......not for the people like me who barely knew stuff and constantly had to look at their notes. that just raises the average and makes it harder to pass argh!.

anyone notice that you write real slow in law exams. or is it just me? i don't think i went past 20 pages total for all 3 questions. what a dismal effort.

ah well i gave it everything i got, im definitley in the lower ranks of law students. hopefully its not enough to be a fail.

my last answer (question 3) was of such bad quality hhahaha. i hope it gets a nice marker for that one. i wish anne from criminal law marked all of my exam.........then i'd pass no problem hhahaha. too bad contracts has no such markers.

They did get progressively harder.. loved the first one: talk about fitting a case perfectly! :) The second was fine, and the third one was ok, but my hand was so crazy I dont think its v. legible. I only wrote 5 pages in total for each question... Meh, its over.

...HOLIDAYS!!!! :D :D :D

goooooood goood.

i hate it when u get out of an exam and you learn you didn't use something or do something you were supposed to. lucky this wasn't the case here.

im gonna stop asking questions, just in case i do find that i didn't mention something lol. i prefer to carry on my holidays in ignorant bliss of what i did and didn't do in the exam. it'll be more of a surprise when i get the mark back thats for sure.

Oh they teach remedial remedial issues in contracts these days?... Hmm well at least you'll be better prepared for LAW405 - Remedies.

Well yeah, they do, but.. dont. They mention the possible remedies (eg. termination, void ab initio etc), and what that entails, but no real detail.

You said aaages ago that you had an exam worth 90%- is that law?
