can sum1 tell me y stainless steel corrodes under salty conditions, doesnt the passivating layer stop it from corroding. im sppining out...

also y does a metal rust leess in basics soloution n i need n eqautuion to show it... i hate bloody chemistry.

plz help i nnedd this info ASAP thanx guys.
