i found these in my school diary and thought that i would post them for everyone out there.
In the weeks leading up to the exams you must adopt a more disciplined attitude
Your performance in the exams is vital to your success; it's really a 'once only' competition
- look at them positively as an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding
Social life
- put it on hold; it's a secondary priority
- considerably reduce parties, night clubs and social activities; you have unlimited time after exams
- plan your rewards after a sound exam performance
-arrange for friends to call or visit at an agreed time
Exercise and Sleep
- walk/jog daily to reduce the pressure; at least 1Km
- it clears the mind, and encourages positive thougyhts
- increases oxygen intake; benefits the brain
- to rest both your brain and eyes you require at least 9 hours of sleep.
Diet
- don't cut corners with your diet; maintain balance
-avoid excessive caffenine, junk food and sugar
Travel time
- read over summaries, listen to study cassettes/ CD's
- plan and revise
The key is to Study Actively
- take notes and precise summaries
- test yourself
- don't just read
A systematic and efficient approach is essential, particulary during study breaks.
- begin your final revision at least 8 weeks before the exam period
- avoid last minute cramming
- plan your time, priortise
Studing late at night returns little value for the time spent.
- you retain a low precentage of the material
- create a Study Timetable to follow
- allow time for breaks and exercise
- begin each morning before 9.00am
- break the day into morning, afternoon and evening with 2 or 3 study sessions in each
- keep to regular routines; it reduces stress
- don't exclude your family; they are there to support you
Your effect and attitude are the keys; they enhance your intelligence.
Focus yourself exclusively on the challenge- Your Exams.
Good luck
