Ye, it would be interesting to see what kind of solution is posed to get rid of all that heat, that's like double what is currently on the market :D

Why? It does sound like something intel would do.

haha, this will get deleted if winston sees it...... but ill give it a shot anyway... the reason dell doesn't go with AMD is because they use MINI or MIDI cases. MIDI is ok I guess, but they have alot of MINI's. And AMD = Oven. AMD + DELL + Egg = Omlette. :p

well i have seen it, delete!

lol jks, well i wouldnt go with that much dell's cases well probably the one my aunty has is quite substantially large, and the inside air circulation and flowing is by far sufficient for AMD's.

if ur talking about selling to them cheap

well duh, if a large company practically buys in bulk, in which it is obvious, and also im sure dell has a contract with intel, of course it's going to be cheap as

It could just be the price diff of the chips and all..
they say that FSB will matter much more now..
i can get (wholesale) an AMD XP 2500+ (366mhz FSB) for the same as a CELERON 2.6 (duno FSB speed, but i kno its half the AMD internal cache)..
but double it and u get a pentium 2.4 800mhz FSB.. (which is discontinued and so 2.6 will take its place in the price range)
but the FSB is more than double the speed (@ 800mhz) and is also a faster overall chip.. with a higher life expectancy (not that computers stay new for long) and less likely to overheat.

its a tough batte here. AMD's next moves will show if they stay decent. They are a good cheaper chip. Im an AMD man cuz im CHEAP... and if i had the decision of Athlon or Celeron.. i think we all go with AMD... but atm.. pentium is ahead by a bit...

As for cases.. more ventilation could be done. no problems.
spend extra $50 on cooling and they b sorted... so im a lil shakey on sayn that thats a problem for dell.
