My story is about 950 words and I know how to adapt it to questions and quotes but I'm not sure how to adapt it to images? Do you just mention the image once? Write about the image the whole time?

Also if it only takes me 33 minutes to write this is this enough to allow for adaption? And more time on the essay or should I make it shorter?

Usually an image can be effectively integrated into the story if it happens to be a setting. Otherwise, as strawberrye said, you can just incorporate it literally or metaphysically. For example, an image of a closed door would reflect a feeling of not belonging, so you could use that as a metaphor in your story. So far, it sounds like your length and time is alright at the moment.

It depends on the question, If the question specifically ask you to explore an experience which promotes a sense of belonging, you should not spend most of your story talking about someone's lack of belonging
