So, does anybody have any ideas for the creative writing section, because i failed miserably (only 8/15) i talked about teen angst, but i just cant think of anything else to write about, any ideas?
Yeah, my teacher freaks everytime we use stereotypes, cliche or generalisation in any of our writingdisco_dave said:.. my teacher freaks out each time we use a cliche in creative writing.

well, i cant comment on whether ur teacher is a flip...most r tho...but he/she's right bout the 'u shouldnt use cliches thing' - i probably shouldve explained what i meant beta (like usual ). i panicked when i got itno the exam, so i decided to pick a really cliched issue and discuss it from a totally new perspective - in mine, i did the whole doctor having a mid-life crisis thing, but told it from the POV of the rubber plant in his office. sounds wierd, i know (actually, WAS wierd), but it worked - the doc's mid-life crisis paralleled the journey of the rubber plant - ie. through observing him, the plant came to realise what is important etc. and i got to use humour and got automatic kudos for creativity. i also was able to avoid all the angst bs that would have come if id told the same story from the doctors POV. also, a dual inner journey. so all worked out. neway, thats what i meant by using a cliched concept and writing about it in a new way - it was easier than trying to come up with something completely new and different on the spot.disco_dave said:Silvermoon, you said you used a 'cliched' concept to you story... my teacher freaks out each time we use a cliche in creative writing.
i need using a concept is different to actually using cliche's, but what do you teachers say about using cliche's in any sort of writing??? is my teacher just a flip?? a good one at that
