For some unknown reason, my Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro is doing weird things with text. (see attached).

I've updated to the latest version and have re-installed, but it keeps doing it. Any suggestions? Seriously, the font thing that's happening is freaking me out.

It does it with Acrobat files that use Times Font- I wonder if that has anything to do with it? As you can see, the heading text in Arial and the Italics to the left of the picture are fine.

Ignore the actual text itself, for some reason that was the part of the page I took a screenshot of.

When you reinstalled, did you uninstall and reboot first?
Yes... But is that seriously all you've got?

I'm now running just the Adobe reader, and it's fine, but when I install pro (I love it because of the converting scanned text to editable text), it goes all fucked.

Should I be an ass and ring/email them up?

I just wanted to check whether you'd tried that before I gave it too much more thought, I'm a lazy person when it comes down to it :)

I've got no experience with Acrobat Pro, but the characters being regular seems to suggest a font issue of some sort. Is there an option in Acrobat Pro for overriding fonts in documents at all? If so, it's conceivable that that has somehow been accidentally set for times new roman, and that the registry setting which houses the setting survived the uninstall (As often programs don't totally remove their entries). Failing that I'm not really sure, you could find the font that matches that one being displayed in C:\windows\fonts (Default location, different if you've changed it) and remove it and see what happens then, but that's a bit of a long shot.

If you don't mind me asking, is it a legitimate copy? If so ringing/emailing about the issue certainly couldn't hurt. I'll keep looking and see if I can turn anything up, sorry I can't be more help at the moment.
