Hey!
I have to do a book cover for a crime fiction novel.. that suggests to the read that it's a crime fiction novel
Does anyone have any ideas?
I'd appreciate any!

Thanks in advance

have a guy holding a magnifine glass and smoking a cigar
underneath that write 'Holmes uncovers the crime of the century'
no, don't really.

Try something more unusual (i.e. something about crimes against humanity, eg. war)
You'll get good marls for creativity :D

Just think of the major sub-genres, the Great Detective sub-genre(Holmes and Poe etc.) was about the advent of reason and logic, Golden Age was about the re-establishment of the status quo, a reassurance of current values etc. so just get some symbols and portray the conventions and showcase something that fits into the "big idea" of the sub-genre.
