I'm having trouble getting The Big Sleep - Director's Cut. Apparently it's been deleted and so they don't produce it in Australia anymore. In addition, I couldn't find it on Amazon.com or eBay. They don't even have it for hire at my local VideoEzy. I was just wondering if anyone has a copy they can lend or sell, or if anyone knows where I can get it from.

BTW. Why does the Board of Studies put a deleted film on the syllabus??? Extremely annoying :vcross:

Does you school not have a copy? In ext out class watched it several times, espically the deleated scenes. Your school should have a copt, otherwise how can your teacher teach it if he/she doesnt have a copy ready at hand.

You can always borrow it from them if you cant find another copy, or watch it at school if they arnt into the whole borrowing from school idea. Try a few other video stores if you can, a store near me has a copy, so if you keeping checking you might get lucky.

If you have any questions bout the texts i'll see if i can help, i really liked this text, thought it was interesting why scenes were deleated and remade.
good luck BYE

I've been able to find the original commercial version but not the director's cut.
When you watched it, did you watch the commercial version and then the deleted scenes separately (such as on the "Special Features" DVD)? Or did you watch the entire director's cut version as a whole?

yeah we had a problem with that. Our ext 1 teacher contacted last year's students and we got it off them. You could try that.
