Just wondering, about two things:

1. Would anyone be able to recommend a good related text for rear window?

2. Does anyone have any tips on writing a short story on crime fiction? I'm finding it really difficult to write a good, logical story with 1000 words.

Thanks in advance.

1. Perhaps Disturbia? It's like a modernised version of Rear Window, but you could pretty much make any hard-boiled text fit:)

2. Ahh the CF short story.. gave me so much pain last year;)
The fact is that you dont need a 'good, logical' story in 1000 words
When you think about it, a short is just a piece of a larger story. Your CF short story could begin half way through the investigation or end with the murder or begin with the solution.
As long as it has the conventions of crime fiction, whether they've been manipulated to death or not, it will still be acceptable. In fact- in the HSC exam the examiner will not expect a full complete story anyways.
I hope it helps a little:)
