does wnyone know of a good uni of college for studying art. i know of cofa but are there any other places that specialise in art.

Some TAFE colleges such as Hornsby but others as well on a statewide basis

every year the people who publish "design graphics" magazine do an australia-wide guide to courses within graphic/industrial/interior/fashion design, architecture, fine arts, media arts, etc etc. i'm not sure if it's out yet, but have alook in a decent newsagency (usually near where the UAC books are).

i had one when i was deciding on my course, and it was a really useful book.
